In general, non-surgical treatments like fillers and microneedling carry risks such as mild swelling, redness, tenderness, and itchiness. Surgical procedures carry risks of swelling, bruising, bleeding, infection, adverse reactions to anesthesia, fluid buildup, nerve or muscle damage, and more.
- Pain, swelling, or bruising at the injection site
- Headache or flu-like symptoms
- Droopy eyelid or cockeyed eyebrows
- Crooked smile or drooling
- Eye dryness or excessive tearing
While these side effects will normally dissipate over a few days, if you experience any long-lasting or concerning reactions, please contact our office so that we can help. However, if you experience any of the following reactions, you should contact us immediately:
- Muscle weakness
- Vision problems
- Trouble speaking or swallowing
- Breathing problems
- Loss of bladder control
