What to Expect On The Day of Facial Fat Transfer?
On the day of your Facial Fat Transfer, we may use general anesthesia or local sedation. When you’re comfortable and ready, Dr. Sadaat will use a thin tube called a cannula inserted via small incisions to extract fat from the donor site on your body. Usually, this site is the buttocks, hips, inner or outer thighs, or abdomen. This fat is then washed, purified, and processed to prepare it in a syringe for transfer. Fat purification is necessary to ensure that re-injecting harvested fat doesn’t cause any adverse reactions. This process is repeated until the desired amount of fat has been placed in the target area. Using a technique known as lipomodeling, Dr. Saadat will inject the fat into the facial area. He and our technician team may perform several injections until the desired amount of fat has been placed in the target area.
