BRINGING UP THE REAR: THE BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT

In colloquial terms, the phrase, ‘bringing up the rear’ means being last in a line. However, in cosmetic surgery, when someone ‘brings up the rear,’ they are inquiring about one of the most popular procedures being performed today: the Brazilian butt lift. And it is quickly moving to the front of the line as one of the most requested procedures.

The Butt Lift Is Anything But Last In Line Of Requested Cosmetic Procedures

According to a 2016 report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the most popular rear-end procedure in the United States is a buttock augmentation with fat grafting — known as a Brazilian butt lift. In 2017 there were 20,301 recorded procedures, a 10 percent increase from 2016. However, between the years 2000 and 2015, the ASPS reports that buttock augmentation surgery increased by 252 percent.

The Two Most Popular Ways To Enhance The Buttocks

Over the years there have been two methods of enhancing the shape of the buttocks. Fat grafting and buttock implants. Of the two, fat transfer is increasingly coming to the foreground as the contouring surgery that can enhance the shape of your body with minimal downtime.

And A Third Non-Surgical Newcomer Option

Option three is a non-invasive, non-surgical butt-lift, making use of a filler called Sculptra. This particular filler induces the body’s own collagen to grow around the product. This results in a more rounded gluteus maximus.

Fat Transfer VS Buttock Implants

Fat transfer procedures, also referred to as fat injections or fat grafting, involve the removal of excess fat from one site on the body, followed by the re-injection of this fat into other areas of the body to smooth and enhance the appearance of the skin. In utilizing the body’s natural fat deposits as a natural filler, this procedure offers a permanent and safe solution to eliminate fat from problem areas and use it to enhance volume and appearance in another.

Buttock implants, while popular, pose more risks than the fat transfer procedure. Some of the most common side effects include: excessive bleeding after surgery, pain, scarring, skin discoloration, infection, fluid or blood accumulation underneath the buttocks, allergic reactions, skin loss, nausea and vomiting from anesthesia. Despite a relatively high success rate, it is also possible for the silicone implants to move or slip out of place. This can leave you with an uneven appearance in the buttocks and will require additional surgery to fix the problem.

Above And Beyond: The Beverly Hills Butt Lift

I have performed so many gluteal augmentation surgeries that I have been able to hone and perfect the technique to such a degree that I now call my procedure the “Beverly Hills Butt Lift.” My patients are so pleased with their results that I have become the “go-to-surgeon” for this procedure in Beverly Hills. I am honored to have this reputation.

This procedure is an excellent option for patients with flat, sagging buttocks and ideally suited for patients looking to add volume and shape to their buttocks while improving contours, firmness and proportions. Because this procedure involves harvesting fat from other areas of the body for injection, it offers the added benefit of eliminating fat from other trouble zones.

If you are exploring gluteal augmentation always make the first step the most thorough. That is selecting an experienced surgeon. Although any surgery carries with it an inherent risk of complications, when performed with advanced techniques by a renowned Board-Certified surgeon experienced in the procedure you desire, it will be a very rewarding experience.
