Skin Cancer Reconstruction There is Hope

The incidence of skin cancer is increasing every day. Fortunately, the majority of skin cancers are treatable, but the key to successful treatment is early detection. The earlier a skin cancer is found, the better it is controlled. More importantly, the smaller the cancer, the easier it is to reconstruct the defect caused by removal of the cancer.

Plastic surgeons remain a key member of the team to repair skin cancer defects. At Santa Clarita Ear, Nose and Throat and Facial Plastic Surgery (SCENT), we specialize in the treatment of skin cancer, especially the part that involves plastic surgery reconstruction. We are known in the community for creating scars that are difficult to detect. Fortunately, insurance companies still cover the plastic surgery repair of skin cancer defects. Unfortunately, most patients don’t know this and don’t take advantage of the opportunity. If you have or are suspicious of having skin cancer, you should look into plastic surgery to assure that you will have the best possible cosmetic outcome.

At SCENT, we are proud of our skin cancer program and are available to you for a consultation. We accept most insurance plans and are able to treat you from the start to finish, including skin cancer screening and detection, skin cancer resection, MOHS micrographic resection, and plastic surgery reconstruction of the involved area. D. David Saadat, MD is triple board certified in facial plastic surgery, otolaryngology and sleep medicine and partner at  SCENT where they treat the ear, nose, throat, speech, audiology and facial plastic surgery needs for adults and children.
