Contouring and Liposuction

Body Contouring & Liposuction

Liposuction, often referred to as ‘Body Contouring’ involves removing excess fat deposits to slim and reshape specific areas of the body, while simultaneously improving your body contours and proportions.

What areas can liposuction treat?

  • Thighs
  • Hips and buttocks
  • Abdomen and waist
  • Upper arms
  • Back

Patients have the option of having the Liposuction performed alone or in conjunction with another procedure such as a Face Lift, Breast Reduction, or Tummy Tuck.

Is Liposuction right for you?

The ideal candidates for Liposuction are:

  • Adults within 30% of their ideal weight who have firm , elastic skin and good muscle tone
  • Healthy individuals who do not have a life-threatening illness or medical condition that can impair healing
  • Non-smokers
  • Individuals with a positive outlook and specific goals in mind for body contouring

The Operation

Dr Saadat performs Liposuction out of our three California office locations (Beverly Hills, Valencia, and Santa Clarita) which are equipped with state-of-the-art technology designed to mitigate the risk of complications and maximize the likelihood of successful treatment outcomes. Unlike the harried treatment environments of many plastic surgery practices, Dr. Saadat and his well-trained staff members will be completely accessible to you throughout your cosmetic enhancement experience, should you have any concerns or questions.

The procedure can last from 30 minutes all the way up to 4 hours depending on how many body areas are being operated on. The type of anaesthesia will vary, with local anaesthesia being used for small areas and general anaesthesia being used in more extensive procedures.

Through a small incision, often around 0.4-0.8 inches in length, a blunt tipped instrument called a cannula is passed back and forth essentially vacuuming out fat. The cannula is connected to rubber tubing, which in turn attaches to a machine that generates high vacuum pressure.

Liposuction Recovery

During your Liposuction recovery, a compression garment or elastic bandages may cover treatment areas once your procedure is completed. These are used to help control swelling and compress the skin to your new body contours.

Additionally, drains may be placed in existing incisions beneath the skin to remove any excess blood or fluid. These drains are small and temporary.

Dr Saadat will give you specific instructions, these may include:

  • How to care for the surgical site and drains
  • Medications to apply or take orally to aid healing and reduce potential for infection
  • Specific concerns to look for at the surgical site or in you general health
  • When to follow up with Dr Saadat post-surgery
