Lip Reconstruction

By December 16, 2012No Comments

Lip reconstruction may be required after trauma or surgical excision.

The lips are considered the start of the oral cavity and perhaps surprisingly, are a frequent and common site of oral cancer.

Lip reconstruction should always consider both functional and cosmetic considerations as the lips are necessary for speech, making facial expressions and of course, eating.

Obviously, the lips are also front-and-center on the face, so even minor problems or imperfections can be bothersome or negatively impact a person’s overall appearance.
